Investors who like to keep an eye on their share prices would have noticed Santos has taken a turn for the worse. A key piece of information was released on 11 July. The ridiculous 15% shareholding limit is staying for the near future. Shareholders will probably have to wait until after the next state election before the removal of the limit is lobbed before the government again. Hopefully then it will be overturned. In issue 80 (Accumulate - $6.55) we liked Santos for the long term - we still do. The company has also completed its acquisition of Natural Gas Australia. With more reserves under its belt for development it remains a LONG TERM BUY.
