QBE: Result 2012

It was a lousy year for QBE but, as Nathan Bell explains, chief executive John Neal’s remedial actions should produce significantly higher profits over the next few years.

QBE Insurance’s share price slumped 8% after announcing it would slash the final dividend from 25 to 10 cents. But as we’ve argued publicly, this is a sensible long-term strategy and QBE’s profits and dividends should increase over the next few years.
