Qantas profit set to soar

The airline's recovery seems to be taking root, but Qantas isn't out of the woods yet.

Talk about a turnaround. Qantas Airways has reported it’s on track to earn a record full-year profit – just two years after making a record loss. Management expects underlying profit before tax to be $875–925m for the six months to December – nearly as high as the $975m Qantas made in the 2015 financial year as a whole and a far cry from the $2.8bn loss for 2014.
