Leaving Las Vegas

Nathan Bell shares some highlights from his recent trip to Las Vegas for the eighth annual spring Value Investing Congress.

In October 2011 I attended the autumn Value Investing Congress in New York, a semi-annual event where some of the worlds top value investors present stock ideas. It was a memorable event for many reasons but I specifically remember the fear.

Attendees were glued to their mobile devices as the Euro looked like it was going to collapse. The upshot was that the market was cheap, and many of the ideas from the conference turned into multi-baggers over the next three years.
