When confronted by allegations of corruption, Imelda Marcos, the one time first lady of the Philippines, reportedly chastised the questioner: 'I get so tired of listening to one million dollars here, one million dollars there. It's so petty.'
Investors may not be as well heeled (get it?) as the former first lady, but they can no doubt relate to her fatigue. Markets move value by millions, sometimes billions, of dollars at a turn. We don't always pay attention.
