From the outside, this miner looks like it’s in the nickel business. Peer closer and its assets start to glitter and shine. But is it cheap enough?

Medieval Germans first stumbling across red-green ore recognised it as copper. When the ore refused to refine into copper metal, the metallurgists blamed mischievous spirits thought to haunt these belligerent rocks. Nickel mistaken for copper was a curse, a sentiment with which modern miners may agree.
