It occurred to me recently that my retired parents-in-law are more alert to the daily movement in the ASX200 than I am. Whilst I think it is great that more and more people are taking an active interest in their financial affairs, I worry about the long term impact of recent retirees exposing themselves to the stresses of short term share traders. It is generally accepted that trading financial markets is a high stress occupation. History is littered with traders who have suffered premature burn out. Traders are forced by necessity to deal with the daily volatility of the markets...
