Since the ACCC-enforced end to CWO's bid for AAPT on 31 May, its share price has firmed while AAPT's share price has headed south, partly due to uncertainty over NZ Telecom's intentions after raising its stake in AAPT to 19.9%. This gives it the trump card should another suitor launch a takeover against the company. At these lower prices it is likely that NZ Telecom is not the only suitor contemplating a move on AAPT. Subscribers can ACCUMULATE Cable and Wireless Optus while AAPT remains a HOLD.
