Boring into Orora

Newly spun out of Amcor, Orora is a desperately dull business but that, explains Gaurav Sodhi, is what gets us excited.

It's a business so boring that even Amcor got rid of it. As a manufacturer of boxes, folding cartons, sacks, glass and aluminium cans, the newly spun-off Orora Group is among the dullest businesses on the ASX. There won’t be queues to buy the latest line of boxes; celebrity managers don’t make fibre sacks for a living. For the dispassionate investor, however, this is the kind of business that can yield opportunity.  It is precisely because it is so dull that we are drawn to it.
