Wind power has experienced considerable reductions in the costs of energy over the past few decades and has grown to become one of the biggest sources of new power generation capacity across the globe.
Siemens is one of the leading manufacturers of wind turbines globally and has the goal of accelerating improvements to achieve a 20% reduction in energy costs from wind power by 2020.
In this webcast with Tristan Edis, Professor Michael Weinhold, Chief Technology Officer of Siemens' Global Energy Division, will examine the technological advancements in wind turbines that have driven the reduction in costs historically, and also outline what further advancements we can expect in wind energy that will support their energy cost reduction goals. He'll also discuss how wind fits in with a broader drive to decarbonise our electricity system.
As this is a live broadcast, you will be able to post your questions to Tristan and Michael during the webcast.
