According to smartphone cover manufacturer OtterBox, more than half of all Australians are walking around with broken smartphones in their pockets due to the high cost of repairs and a lack of insurance.

The study found a whopping 80 per cent of Australians will damage their phones within a year, with a quarter of damages happening within three months.
