Why is it important?

My job is to help people create new and easier ways to achieve their goals. [But] we're bombarded with information overload and "too much to do, too little time" syndrome, so when it comes to solving a problem we're often desperate for the easiest way to fix it. Fortunately, for most personal or professional challenges, there's likely someone who's faced and overcome something similar before [and often given a TED Talk on it]. Most TED Talks go for a maximum of 18 minutes, and there's an amazing range of topics, all in bite-sized pearls of wisdom. Many of my clients have experienced real "aha" moments watching one.

What do your colleagues think?

TED Talks aren't a recognised professional coaching tool so many of my colleagues may not be aware of how useful they are.

Unusual moment?

I have a client with an absolute fear of public speaking: a while ago he had to give a talk in front of 500 people. We did coaching around it, but a key for him was watching Susan Cain's TED Talk on the power of introverts.

How much does it cost?

It's free! Anyone can subscribe and you can watch them anywhere.
