Yuletide cheer in the US is predicated by the ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday’ sales and by all accounts things are off to a great start.

Online sales jumped 26 per cent on Black Friday to $US1.04 billion from sales of $US816 million on the corresponding day last year, according to comScore data. Meanwhile, up to 40 per cent of US shoppers are expected to participate in Cyber Monday and the tidal wave of personal and credit card information adds up to rich pickings for cyber-criminals.
