NBN Co has awarded SA Power Networks a three-year contract to roll out fibre in an area covering about 300,000 premises in Adelaide and regional South Australia. It is the second NBN construction contract for the state. Syntheo was given a two-year contract in November 2011. Meanwhile, a crisis meeting between contractors and Visionstream, the company responsible for the NBN rollout in Tasmania, was to take place Monday afternoon

(bit.ly/12CBi6y) to determine if installation work continues. Visionstream was attempting to prevent contractors from walking off over cost issues.
