If your approach to investment is long term there is no need to monitor your stocks daily. It is important, however, to keep up with financial news and company information. Having an idea about the state of the economy and the position of the industries in your portfolio is helpful. Listening to the news daily and checking the performance of your portfolio once a month should be enough. Make sure you allocate time to review your investments every month so that you can control any changes.
