Hancock welcomes foreign interest in Aust projects

Gina Rinehart's son says a healthy junior mining space is crucial to the Australian resources sector.

Gina Rinehart's son John Hancock says renewed interest in Australian projects from foreign investors is a clear sign the nation is recovering from a string of poor policy decisions, The Australian reports.

According to the newspaper, Mr Hancock said the Roy Hill result has been a big endorsement of Australia as an investment destination

"The junior sector will benefit from that and the government’s new direction," he told The Australian.

"I’m doing my best to attract foreign funds to Australian companies, and beyond resources. Small companies can sometimes become big companies — they just need a little help along the way."

Mr Hancock said a healthy junior space was crucial to the Australian resources sector, the newspaper reports.
