Patricia Cross has quit as a non-executive director of National Australia Bank Ltd to join the board of another unnamed listed company

The bank did not name the company Mrs Cross will join but said the move had "the potential for a conflict of interest and duty with NAB".

Her resignation is effective today.

Mrs Cross has served on the NAB Board for eight years and held a senior executive position in the bank from 1988 to 1996.
