Chinese inflation slowing

Inflation in China slowed faster than expected in March, a sign the recovery in the world's second-largest economy was still weak. China's consumer price index - a main gauge of inflation - came in at 2.1 per cent, down from 3.2 per cent in February. Analysts said the news would allow the People's Bank of China to hold off tightening monetary policy for the time being.
