Carbon emissions close to GFC lows

The latest CEDEX update shows Australia's overall emissions are back down close to post GFC lows. Energy efficiency appears to be a major contributor.

This CEDEX® report contains data for emissions from all fuels up to the end of September 2012, plus an update on emissions from generators in the National Electricity Market (NEM) up to the end of November 2012. It follows on the last full report, containing full data to the end of July 2012, and the separately published October 2012 Electricity emissions update, containing data for the NEM to the end of October.

All emissions data are reported as moving annual totals and changes in those totals.

Total energy emissions up to September 2012
