Aust stocks set to open lower

Local market's strong run tipped to end on weak leads from global bourses.

The Australian stock market's run of five straight gains looks set to end, as global markets posted a soft night of trade.

At 0705 AEST on Friday, the September share price index futures contract was down nine points at 5,230.

In news on Friday, ANZ makes its monthly interest rate decision.

The market on Thursday hit another new five-year high, with the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index adding 8.1 points to 5,242.5 points and the broader All Ordinaries index gained 7.6 points to 5,238.2 points.
