It's an interesting suggestion but, unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to do. The problem is one of assessing human nature. Warren Buffett says there are three qualities he looks for in a manager: integrity, intelligence and energy.

These attributes are necessarily subjective so appraising management teams is like appraising art. We try to point out good managements when we find them so you can see what they look like. Examples include Wesfarmers (see page 4), Suncorp Metway and Perpetual Trustees.
