Ansell (ANN) remains confident of earnings growth in the year ahead despite missing its earnings per share guidance for 2012-13 and seeing a challenging environment to persist.

In the year to June 30, full-year earnings per share (EPS) came in at $1.065, shy of the forecast set in the interim report for between $1.07 and $1.12.

However, the company forecasts high single-digit EPS growth for the current financial year to between $US1.12 and $US1.18.

Ansell's net profit attributable to shareholders was $136.8 million, a 5.2% increase on the $130 million in 2012.

In the same period revenue was 1.34 billion, a 10% lift on the $1.22 billion recorded in the previous year.

Ansell will pay an unfranked final dividend of 22 cents on September 26, to shareholders on the register as at September 5.

The group's total dividend will total 38 cents, an increase on the previous year's 35.5 cents.
