For the last two decades, our collective enterprise InvestSMART, Intelligent Investor and Eureka Report have dedicated our knowledge and experience to offer everything you need to make wealth happen, free from the jargon and complexities so commonly found in the finance industry. Here's a little piece of history on us.

InvestSMART

InvestSMART was founded in 1999 by Ron Hodge, Nigel Poole and Jim Noort as FloatNews. In 2001, the newly named business, InvestSMART, became a leading source for investment research and tools for investors, including its now much-loved free Portfolio Manager.

After a period of ownership by Fairfax, in 2013 Ron and Nigel took back ownership and joined InvestSMART Group to enhance its offering and launched a suite of low-cost investment products.

Intelligent Investor

Known for its value investing approach, Intelligent Investor was founded in 1998 by John Addis, InvestSMART's Editor-in-Chief. Led by Head of Research, James Carlisle, its team of analysts are dedicated in providing ASX share recommendations and research for investors managing their own portfolios.

Eureka Report

Founded in 2001, Eureka Report joined InvestSMART Group in 2016 and brings to you the Wealth & Markets hub. Editor Tony Kaye leads a team of financial advisors, SMSF experts and economists to offer coverage on macroeconomic insights, super advice, tax and investment planning and broader wealth commentary.

Our Investment Committee

The primary role of our Investment Committee is to oversee the general management of our investment products - including the development, selection and ongoing monitoring of the investment strategies.

    Paul has 37 years of investment experience and is regarded one of Australia's leading "money" experts. From 1993 to 2002, Paul hosted the popular Channel 9 program Money and now currently writes for newspapers across Australia, is a frequent guest expert on Australia's major television networks and radio.

    Paul is Chairman of The Australian Government Financial Literacy Board and Money Magazine. He also holds the Chair of Financial Literacy at Macquarie University.

    Ron has worked in financial services for over 25 years, including UBS in Singapore and Bell Commodities in Sydney and founded InvestSMART in 1999. Ron holds a Masters degree in Computer Science, Bachelor Degrees in Commerce and Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Alastair has held executive positions in the banking and financial services industry for over 27 years in the UK, USA and Australia. Prior to joining InvestSMART in 2014, he held Director positions with Aurora Funds Limited, Challenger and Salomon Smith Barney. Alastair has an Honours degree in Economics from the University of St Andrews and is currently the Treasurer of the Centenary Institute of Medical Research, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Centenary Institute Endowment Fund and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland.

Alex is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and holds a degree in Finance and International Business from Griffith University.

Mickey is a CFA Level III Candidate and is in the final stages of completing a Graduate Diploma in Finance with RMIT University.
