Who We Are

"Our mission is to help all Australians grow and protect their wealth"

With the aim of helping investors reach their financial goals, InvestSMART Group Limited (ASX:INV) brings together three leading companies to give members actionable investment tools, wealth advice and independent ASX-listed stock research:

InvestSMART

InvestSMART was founded in 1999 by Ron Hodge, Nigel Poole and Jim Noort as FloatNews. Initially offering IPO information to investors, in 2001 the newly named business began offering managed fund comparison information and a range of investor tools, including its now much-loved free Portfolio Manager. After a period of ownership by Fairfax, in 2013 Ron and Nigel repurchased it to focus on building an information hub for investors wanting to take control of their own financial futures.

Intelligent Investor

Intelligent Investor was founded in 1998 by John Addis, our current Editor in Chief. Known for its market-beating value investing research, its team of 10 equity analysts is led by Head of Research James Carlisle. Intelligent Investor operates independently from InvestSMART but provides the models that a number of our investment products are built upon. Intelligent Investor’s independence is fiercely protected by our analysts and management.

Eureka Report

Eureka Report, founded in 2001 by Alan Kohler, was sold to News Corp in 2013 and purchased by InvestSMART in 2016. Eureka Report offers macroeconomic insights, super advice, tax and investment planning and broader wealth commentary. Editor Tony Kaye leads a team of finance journalists, financial planners and economists to offer investor-focused coverage of these key areas.

Why choose InvestSMART

We believe everyone should have the confidence to control their financial future and it shouldn’t be hard or expensive to do so.

Whether you’re managing your own investments or looking for a little help, we deliver straightforward, flexible and affordable solutions to ensure you are better able to meet your investment goals.

What we do

We’re all about making investing simple. Statistics show four in five Australians do not receive any professional investment advice, with cost being a primary factor. We aim to change that.

Through our Portfolio Manager, stock research, wealth commentary and affordable investment products, we believe we are delivering the right tools to help all Australians grow and protect their wealth.
