Company Overview

Business Description:
Zimplats Holdings Limited (ZIM) is a mining company that produces platinum group metals from the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe. ZIM holds interests in the Hartley Complex which is the platinum hosting centres of the Great Dyke.

Strategy Analysis:
ZIM aims to be one of the lowest cost platinum producers with a production target of a million ounces per annum. The Ngezi Phase II Expansion project has been approved at a cost of US$450m. This is the second stage in a series of planned expansions to grow the business.. Zimplats Holdings reported NPAT up 64% to US$200.42m for the year ended 30 June 2011. Revenues from ordinary activities were US$527.35m, up 30% from last year. Diluted EPS was 165.6 US cents compared to 100.86 US cents last year. Net operating cash flow was US$186.08m compared to US$145.68m last year. No dividend was declared.
