Company Overview

Business Description:
The Reject Shop Limited (TRS) is a discount variety retailer of general merchandise products. The discount variety retailer has around 218 stores in its total network focusing on low price points, convenient store locations and offering a wide variety of merchandise. Stores are spread across the whole of Australia.

Strategy Analysis:
TRS is in a period of rapid expansion to grab suitable sites in immature markets and build a relevant retail presence which it can then defend through the leverage of scale and brand recognition. Distribution efficiency is a key focus with management investing funds and time to fine tune and so develop the channel to meet longer term demand trends. The Reject Shop reported NPAT down 30.8% to $16.17m for the year ended 30 June 2011. Revenues from ordinary activities were $505.06m, up 7.3% from last year.
