Business Description: Platinum Australia Limited (PLA) is a minerals exploration and development company focusing on projects prospective for platinum group metals (PGM).
Strategy Analysis: PLA intend to become a substantial low cost, mid-tier PGM producer by filling a short supply of platinum in response to global demand. PLA operates the Smokey Hills Platinum Mine in South Africa which has a projected average annual production capacity of -100,000ozs 4E PGM. Platinum Australia reported negative cash flow of $6.07m for quarter ended 30 September 2011. Operating cash flow for the period was $(6.1m). Payments for exploration and evaluation were $(937,000). Investing cash flow was $(13,000). Financing cash flow was $43,000. Cash in hand at the end of the quarter was $15.42m.
