Business Description: Cellnet Group Limited (CLT) is a market distributor of telecommunications, flash memory and retail products in Australia and New Zealand. CLT distributes products directly to retailers, mass merchants, consultants, system integrators and value added resellers, who are directly involved in the Telecommunications, Retail and IT industries. CLT has distribution and sales facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
Strategy Analysis: CLT's strategy consists of expanding its presence into new and associated market segments that will provide synergy across its current infrastructure in order to maximise sales and profit. This strategy was highlighted by the launch in June 2004 of the new Consumer Products division, which secured a contract to distribute Sony Audio accessories to the Australian retail market. Through this new division, Cellnet will continue to target new distribution opportunities for audio visual products, both manufacturer and Cellnet-branded.
Organic growth is contingent upon CLT's ability to lock in exclusive long-term relationships with current vendor partners, as proven by the recent Samsung master distribution partner agreement. In May 2005 CLT announced that it had secured a new IT distribution contract with Toshiba Australia. In December 2004 the company advised it had secured a new IT distribution contract with Acer New Zealand.
